Ringworm: 

This is a skin infection, signs to watch for are:

  • Circular patches of hair loss
  • This does spread to humans so if you notice anything on your cat check yourself.

You must see your vet who will prescribe cream/shampoo, this should clear up in 6 wks.

Feline Immunodeficiency Virus ( FIV)

This is an infection which destroys a cat’s immune system which leaves them prone to other diseases.

Signs to watch for:

  • Gingivitis
  • Weight loss
  • Fever
  • Poor appetite

These cats do have long periods of time where they show no signs of the illness, and can lead a normal life.

CATS INFECTED MUST BE KEPT INDOORS AS IT IS SPREAD BY BITING OR SCRATCHING OTHER CATS.
